ECF Welcomes Kim Hedge as Vice President: Her first assignment is 5 weeks in Africa

We are very excited to officially welcome Kim Hedge to the ECF team in a full-time capacity. Just 2 weeks ago Kim was a full- time management consultant, volunteering with ECF.  Today she is with me in Nairobi, Kenya.

At the Dr. Hawa Abdi Clinic in Nairobi with Margo (PPB), Kim (ECF), Dr. Amina (DHAF) and Rachael (ECF)

I am very grateful to have Kim on this 5 week assignment, as she has extensive experience working in Africa and is a great travel partner.  In collaboration with Project Peanut Butter (PPB), we are conducting a training in Nairobi on small scale production of RUTF for the Somali organization Dr. Hawa Abdi Foundation (DHAF).  The DHAF staff members will return to Somalia with the tools and knowledge needed to produce RUTF for 2,500 children each year.  Learn more about this project here.

From Nairobi, Kim and I will journey to Zambia where 2 million children under the age of five are malnourished.  We are initiating the first phase of setting up a full scale RUTF production project.
